Advisory Circle

The Métis Wellness Project is honoured to be guided by an Advisory Circle of ten Métis Elders and Knowledge Keepers from across the Métis homeland. We prioritized Métis women and Two-Spirit/Indigiqueer people, and stakeholders from the associated Métis research institutes to help oversee the project. Their lived experiences, cultural knowledge, and deep connections to community provide invaluable guidance throughout every stage of the project.

The Advisory Circle plays a central role in ensuring that the research is grounded in Métis values, respectful relationships, and community priorities. Members provide direction on the project’s design, participant engagement, cultural protocols, interpretation of findings, and knowledge sharing, helping to ensure that the research remains accountable to the Métis communities it seeks to serve.

Their guidance reflects the importance of relationality, reciprocity, and respect—principles that are foundational to this work. By bringing together diverse perspectives, experiences, and teachings, the Advisory Circle helps create a research process that honours Métis ways of knowing and supports meaningful, community-centred outcomes.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity, wisdom, and ongoing commitment of each Advisory Circle member. Their contributions strengthen this project and help ensure that the knowledge created through this research will be relevant, respectful, and beneficial for current and future generations of Métis people.
